the ides of march

The ides of march signifies the fifteenth of march. This is the day on which Julius Cesar was killed by members of the roman senate. I think that if Cesar had not been killed the roman empire would probably have taken over the whole of the world. As a result of the world being under one rule I think that scientific progress would be severely delayed due to lack of competition between scientists of different nations.
